I have, in the past, had some bad experiences with movers. You don't need to go further than own review history to see that. I picked OCD Moving mostly based on the Yelp ratings but was expecting to be disappointed by outsourced services or slow speed or whatever. Man, was I ever wrong.
John and Jose were the best. To start off with, on the morning they came in, a moving truck was already in front of my building for another unit. I was freaking out because it was a narrow San Francisco street. They just kind of rolled with it and got all the moving done. When a neighbor came to say something, John explained what was going on and the neighbor was completely fine with it.
They came into my apartment and looked at everything, listened to all my concerns, made conversation, and didn't mind while I quickly dipped to the bank to get cash to pay them. They got the boxes and furniture in fast, like incredibly fast. I was expecting the move out to take 3-4 hours like last time, but it instead took 2-3 max. I was so worried about having so many boxes that it would tack on extra hours, but they moved all 40-50 boxes in one hour and even taped up some boxes I hurried on.
They also saw I was wearing a mask and I heard John tell Jose to wear one, too. They both kept their masks on the entire time especially when interacting with me or anyone in my building.
When I was calling an Uber to drive me to the address, they asked if I wanted to just go with them to save me some money. Wonderful and appreciated.
Despite the destination having multiple sets of stairs, they got everything in without incident or complaint. They even arranged the massive wall of boxes in a neat little stack against the walls so I could access everything easily. All for a reasonable price! In fact, John even stopped a conversation we were having after the last box to make sure we weren't having it on my dime.
I don't know when the next time I'm going to move will be, but I think OCD will be the first call I make whenever it is.
